Example of Daily Prediction Using ACE Data

DISCUSSION: We are testing the algorithm to use the real-time ACE data to make predictions on a daily basis. The method assumes the magnetic field expressed in the GSM (geocentric solar magnetosphere) coordinate system. Currently, the ACE data are available in the RTN coordinate system. As a result, the results are only approximate to the extent that the RTN Bz is similar to the GSM Bz. The GSM data are expected to become available in the near future from the Space Environment Center (SEC).
